The ARCA RE/MAX Series season opener is
now in the books and Florida native
Dawayne Bryan has started his 2008
season off strong with an 8th place
finish in last weekend's Daytona ARCA
200 at Daytona International Speedway.
The path to that top 10 finish wasn't an
easy one though.
"We had several close calls" said Bryan.
"I actually wound up in one wreck that I
feel cost us a top 3 with the damage
that we got in the wreck, but with all
the close calls a top 10 is great. The
car is in one piece to roll in the
trailer, all in all it was a good
weekend for us."
Racing has been a family thing for years
as Dawayne made his way through karts,
late models, and eventually into the
ARCA RE/MAX Series where he won at
Chicagoland in just his 2nd career
start. It looked like he would contend
for another win, but some front end
damage kept Bryan from getting the help
that he needed to get to the front.
"Anytime I would pull out to pass it
would kill the car" said Bryan. "I had
to stay tucked up behind someone and all
the drivers notice stuff like that so
they knew not to go with me, so I tried
to stay tucked up behind everybody as
they were going by."
Bryan is planning to run a limited ARCA
RE/MAX Series schedule in 2008 as
sponsorship allows. If you're interested
in sponsoring Dawayne Bryan or would
like more information, you can vist and
contact him at his website

With the proper financial backing, this
talented young driver would be any
owners' dream. Not only does he have the
skills to contend for a championship,
he's well spoken and great with his
fans. Remember this name, I have a
feeling we'll be seeing more of it in
the years to come. |

DAWAYNE BRYAN HOPES TO
CHALLENGE DAYTONA FOR THE SECOND TIME IN
THE UPCOMING ARCA 200 |
Lake Alfred, FL (02/03/07)
– After
spending the last several months making
repairs to their superspeedway car and going to a test
session last week at Talledega, Dawayne
Bryan and his Bryan Racing team are now
ready to return to Daytona International
Speedway for the ARCA RE/MAX season opener.
Their ARCA speedway car was heavily damaged
during the running of last year’s Daytona
race. In the months that followed the
team’s attention was placed on their other
cars as they had no plans to compete again
with that car until 2007.
“We really
didn’t worry too much about this car until
late last year,” said Bryan. “After
Daytona, we concentrated our efforts on
getting our other ARCA cars ready for
competition and later on the Busch series
cars that we got. It’s been a lot of work
getting this car ready to compete again.
The test at Talledega was alright but didn’t
go quite as well as we had hoped. With a
little more work maybe we will be able to
make it into the big race.”
Seventy (70)
teams have entered for the 44th
Annual ARCA 200 at Daytona. The competition
to make the race will be fierce with almost
as many teams having to go home after
qualifying as those who get to compete in
the race. Qualifying is scheduled for
Friday, February 9th beginning at
12:00 noon EST. The race is scheduled for
Saturday, February 10th with a
start time of 4:15 p.m. EST. The race will
be televised live on SPEED beginning at 4:00
p.m. EST and as usual, the event is being
held in conjunction with Nascar’s Budweiser
Shootout which is scheduled to run later
that same night.
Like many ARCA
teams, the #63 Dodge team is a family owned
operation. The primary sponsor for the
upcoming event will be the family’s
business, HI-TECH CONSTRUCTION. Other
associate sponsors are James
Carter-Attorney, Shawn White and
Sticky-Stuff Graphics.
“I am very
fortunate to have the support of my family
and friends,” said Bryan. “It takes a lot
of effort and money to have the opportunity
to compete at this level. The competition
seems to get tougher each race. We are just
a small family team trying our best to
compete against the ARCA veterans and the
Nascar driver- development teams. We enjoy
the competition and hope that by doing well
we might attract the attention of some
companies seeking to market their products
or services to race fans or get the
attention of one the big teams looking for a
new talented driver to recruit.”
The Bryan
Racing team is seeking to obtain additional
marketing partners for this race and for
select ARCA and Nascar Busch series events
this year. Both primary and associate
positions are available.
In 8 starts in
the ARCA RE/MAX series, Dawayne has 1 win, 2
top ten finishes and has led 39 laps. His
win came in only his second ARCA start. In
last year’s season opener at Daytona he
struggled early and then began to make a
charge toward the front just before getting
caught up in a crash. He went on to finish
33rd.
